As an ambassador for Sportarm, you will demonstrate a customer first approach, ensuring our high service standards are upheld. Engaging with our customers and representing Sportarm with confidence and charm are essential. An affinity for country sports and the countryside is also important. We will invest in developing your abilities to take your career in the Gun Industry to the next level, through on-the-job, hands-on, one-to-one training from the leading experts in the industry. If you have never shot before, we will teach you how to.

The Role

As the Repairs & Service Manager in our Dorchester Gunroom, you will provide a seamless and exceptional customer experience for our clients when they bring their firearms in for servicing and repairs. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire repair or service journey of each weapon, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and clear communication at every stage.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Customer Engagement: Handling initial customer enquiries and booking firearms into our systems.
  • Pre-Inspection: Conducting thorough pre-inspections of firearms and co-ordinating with our Gunsmithing team.
  • Report Management: Compiling comprehensive repair and service reports that include quotations, recommendations, and time schedules.
  • Customer Communication: Communicating repair and service details to customers, making informed recommendations based on Gunsmiths’ reports.
  • Process Monitoring: Overseeing the repair and service process, ensuring adherence to time schedules & high standards in all evolutions.
  • Final Inspection: Inspecting firearms upon return from the Gunsmiths to ensure all work meets our quality standards.
  • Client Coordination: Arranging client pick-ups, handling invoicing, and processing payments.

Skills & Knowledge:

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following skills and knowledge:

  • Proven ability to provide outstanding customer experiences
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising with customers and team members
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge and use of IT-based CRM systems
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and priorities efficiently
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills which will be used in creating our comprehensive repair and service reports
  • Experience in co-ordinating with various teams and arranging client interactions
  • Proficiency in handling invoicing and payment processes
  • Presentable, personable and an ability to develop and manage interpersonal relations
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated, diligent, organised and punctual
  • Security-minded and observant
  • Full driving licence 
  • Knowledge of firearm servicing and repair processes would be useful but not essential

At Sportarm, we work across five days, one of which would be Saturday, 08:30 until 17:30. Our work environment is truly exceptional, providing you with a fantastic setting to excel.
