Hammer
,12 Gauge
£16,995
We are honoured to offer this incredible piece of gun making history steeped in both craftsmanship and eccentric history, this Purdey 12 bore Pigeon Hammer Gun bears the unmistakable mark of a most unusual patron Charles Gordon. A wealthy and reclusive Scottish laird who, at the turn of the 20th century, famously commissioned a vast quantity of the finest guns and rifles, many never fired. This example, built to his instruction, features majestic 34″ side-clipped barrels a length seldom seen, even in its day married to a beautifully proportioned action adorned with Purdey’s signature fine scrollwork. The side clips add strength and security for the long barrels, while the gun’s balance remains surprisingly poised between the hands. This Purdey Pigeon Hammer Gun is presented in a case and is supplied with a well documented folder and book written by Donald Dallas called Charles Gordon Magnificent Madness.
Pre-owned guns come with a comprehensive 12-month mechanical warranty.
We offer a National and International delivery options.
